A male worker has died at a salt refinery in North Coogee on Thursday morning.
The incident occurred at WA Salt Supply at 5. 20am with police, St John Ambulance and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services attending the scene.
Emergency crews were focusing on a conveyor belt, with a large blanket draped over a section.
A WorkSafe spokeswoman said the watchdog was investigating the incident.
[The man] was reported to have been working with a conveyor belt when he was caught in the
belt, she said.
WorkSafe investigators examine the circumstances of incidents with a view to ensuring
compliance and preventing future incidents of a similar nature.
In a statement, WA Salt said the death occurred in its packaging plant.
All work on site has ceased to allow WorkSafe to carry out its investigation, it read.

The death is the second in North Coogee to be investigated by WorkSafe in the past year after Nathaniel Good, 19, .
